Training
Our award winning horse training program is customized to meet each horse and rider’s goals whether that is showing or pleasure riding. Horses in full training will be worked, looked after and groomed throughout the week by our staff. One complimentary lesson per week is offered with the training package. We believe it is important to train the rider/driver together with the horse in order to make a good team.
Horses are trained in a calm, yet assertive manner yielding a well behaved and happy horse! If your horse requires special medical care, we will attend to everything as well as managing farrier and vet services. You can have peace of mind in knowing that we will take care of everything. At Wentz Stables, we take great pride in the level of care our horses receive. We have been in the business for over 30 years giving you the confidence to know that your horse is in good hands. Horses in our care have the benefit of 24 hour on site personnel, a clean and well managed facility with a feeding routine approved by our vets that provides balanced, quality nutrition.
Lead trainer Tara Wentz-Goosley is a USEF licensed judge and has trained multiple World, National & Regional champions and takes a personal approach to each horse and riders needs. Assistant Trainer Tiana Tapper is knowledgable, encouraging and dedicated to achieving the best for each horse and rider team. Our team offers high quality training at an affordable rate.

Academy
We offer opportunities for students looking to get involved in competing or wanting to experience what it would be like to have their own horse. Riders can lease one of our great lesson horses or put their own privately owned horse in the program.
Students have the benefit of learning on and competing with a horse perfectly suited to them for an affordable rate. Leasing your choice of lesson horses secures the same horse teammate for the student. One lesson per week is included in our Academy lease program and riders are eligible to participate in our monthly team practice.
The Academy division is designed to give beginner riders an opportunity to compete against their peers on a level playing field in which horses are not judged and must be part of an active lesson program. ALL of our Academy horses will be used in our lesson program in order to be eligible to compete in Academy. However, we like to select students that will compliment the horse to reinforce positive behavior in addition to addressing any necessary re-schooling to help maintain the horse for the specific rider.
